Child Dedications
What is Child Dedication?
Child Dedication is a parent’s commitment before God and the church to teach and train their child in the ways of the Lord and His Word. It’s a meaningful step of saying, “God, this child is Yours,” and choosing to lead them with intention, faith, and love.
As a church family, we don’t just witness this moment—we step into it with you. We commit to partner with you, support you, and walk alongside your child as they begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Child Dedication takes place during a Sunday worship service, creating space to pray, celebrate, and mark this moment together. Children of any age are welcome to be dedicated, and families are encouraged to invite friends and loved ones to be part of it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a single parent participate?
What is the difference between child dedication & baptism?
Salvation comes through faith in Jesus—recognizing our need for Him, receiving His forgiveness, and stepping into a new life with Him. Baptism is a way to publicly celebrate that decision and the new life He’s begun.
Do my kids need to be dedicated to be a Christian?
Salvation happens when someone personally chooses to follow Jesus—recognizing their need for Him and beginning a relationship with Him. Baptism is the next step of going public with that faith.
Child Dedication is different. It’s not about a decision your child is making right now—it’s about a commitment you’re making as a parent. You’re choosing to raise your child in an environment where they’ll know who Jesus is, experience His love, and have the opportunity to follow Him for themselves one day.
It’s a beautiful and intentional step, but it’s not required.
