Grocery Assistance in Mesa County

Clifton Christian Church Food Bank
  • Located at 3241 F ¼ RD in Clifton.
  • Folks who are interested households can go to the pantry during their regular pantry hours beginning Wednesday, November 5th (Wednesdays from 9-11:30am & 12:30-3:00pm, or Fridays from 9-11:30am) and sign up their household. They will provide a card with a date and time to pick up the Thanksgiving box (you *must* have the card they provide to get your box!).
  • This is NOT a cooked meal, all items will need to be prepared.
Community Food Bank of Grand Junction
  • Located at 476 28 ½ RD in Grand Junction.
  • The Community Food Bank will have shopping appointments on Monday, November 24th and Tuesday, November 25th, for holiday grocery items. Interested folks can call Monday-Friday between 9am-12pm to register with the pantry and/or set up their holiday appointment, or they can come in-person to get registered Mondays, Tuesdays (except the 2nd Tuesday of the month), or Thursdays between 12:30-5:30pm.
  • This is NOT a cooked meal, all items will need to be prepared.
First Christian Church
  • Located at 1326 N. 1st St. in Grand Junction
  • First Christian Church will offer a hot Thanksgiving meal at their location on Thanksgiving from 11am-2pm.
  • No RSVP required.

Christmas Meals, Groceries, and Presents for Kids

Salvation Army
  • Located at 1235 N. 4th St. in Grand Junction
  • Offering a food box for Christmas and toys to families with kids 17 years old and younger, through the Angel Tree.
  • All those interested in Christmas food OR toys must sign up for an appointment.
  • Seniors who want food must call (970) 242-7513.
  • Anyone signing up with Angel Tree will also receive a food box. Find the sign up online at www.facebook.com/GJSal
Toys for Tots
Hope of the Grand Valley
  • This organization aims to provide assistance to families who have limited
    resources that do not qualify for TANF or housing assistance due to earning
    slightly too much income. (Limited SNAP benefits are permitted if the adult(s) are working full-time).
  • Additional requirements: there must be a child 13 years old or younger in the home full-time. Additionally, at least one adult in the family must be employed.

  • The application is live – the deadline to apply is November 17th.
  • Selected families will receive toys as well as groceries for Christmas dinner OR a gift card for Christmas groceries.

  • This small non-profit organization delivers care packages to various communities in need.
  • Call or text (970) 270-9070 and they will do what they can to fill the request, but if they cannot they may be able to do something smaller.
